The Leyton Warriors will be playing at home against the Potter-Dix Coyotes on Tuesday. Potter-Dix took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Leyton, who comes in off a win.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up ten more assists than your opponent, a fact Leyton proved on Friday. They came out on top against South Platte by a score of 65-53. The win made it back-to-back wins for Leyton.
Leyton's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Calvin Borgmann, who went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and 2 assists, and Jonathan Kruse, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Kruse has scored at least 25% of Leyton's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alec Watchorn, who scored 7 points along with 6 assists and 5 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Potter-Dix's 19-5 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 55-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Paxton.
The victory got Leyton back to even at 2-2. As for Potter-Dix, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Leyton beat Potter-Dix 51-42 in their previous matchup back in January. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Potter-Dix's Luke Kasten, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Leyton to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
