It was a good run, but the Foran Lions unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 47-37 to Sheehan. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Foran has scored all season.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maddie Deldin, who scored nine points along with three steals and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Deldin posted two or more blocks. Faith Doyle was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six blocks.
Foran's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-2. As for Sheehan, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Foran will head out on the road to challenge Mercy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mercy is on a three-game streak of home wins, Foran a six-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Sheehan will take on Hamden at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Hamden is ranked 14th, while Sheehan is ranked 13th).
