Fillmore is 0-10 against Nordhoff since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Fillmore Flashes will head out on the road to take on the Nordhoff Rangers at 7:00 p.m. Fillmore has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 18.
Fillmore suffered their biggest loss since December 2, 2023 on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Trinity Classical Academy on the road and fell 84-51. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fillmore in their matchups with Trinity Classical Academy: they've now lost three in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jaime Soto, who scored 14 points along with three steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Ocegueda, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Nordhoff scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Malibu 83-40 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Nordhoff has posted since December 14, 2023.
Fillmore has not been sharp recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season. As for Nordhoff, their victory bumped their record up to 5-17.
Fillmore came up short against Nordhoff in their previous matchup on January 5th, falling 43-38. Can Fillmore avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
