Parker Kaczmarek had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 145 yards and three TDs on only six carries. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 111 rushing yards dating back to last season. Tallen Curry-Smith was another major influence, as he rushed for 69 yards and ran in a TD.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Mesquite proved: they limited Maryvale to a paltry 2.8 yards per carry. While three picked up at least one total tackle, David Ramirez stood above the rest. He rushed for 29 yards. Mesquite didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 19.1.
