The Delta Streets Academy Lions will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Manchester Academy Mavericks at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Delta Streets Academy and seven for Manchester Academy dating back to last season.
Delta Streets Academy suffered their biggest loss since November 16, 2023 on Saturday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 47-21 walloping at the hands of Pillow Academy.
Meanwhile, Manchester Academy ended up a good deal behind Central Holmes Christian last Friday and lost 50-32. While losing is never fun, Manchester Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 299th, while Central Holmes Christian is ranked 143rd).
Delta Streets Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 14 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Manchester Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
Everything came up roses for Delta Streets Academy against Manchester Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 68-26 victory.
