Southwest SD is 1-6 against Castle Park since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Southwest SD Raiders will look to defend their home field against the Castle Park Trojans at 6:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Southwest SD fell victim to Chula Vista's stalwart defense two weeks ago and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Spartans, falling 47-0. Southwest SD has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 49-13, which was the final score in Castle Park's tilt against Chula Vista on Thursday. Castle Park was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.
Although Castle Park took the loss, they still got scores from Sebastian Lozano and Christian Hayes.
Southwest SD's loss dropped their record down to 5-4, while Castle Park's bumped their own down to the opposite: 4-5.
Thursday's game might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Southwest SD has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 147.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Castle Park struggles in that department as they've been even better at 236.2 per game. It's looking like Thursday's matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Southwest SD ended up a good deal behind Castle Park in their previous meeting back in September of 2022, losing 33-14. Will Southwest SD have more luck at home instead of on the road?
