The Banner County Wildcats can finally bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Saturday. They secured a 42-36 W over Edgemont. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Banner County has managed all season.
Brendyn Onstott was the offensive standout of the matchup as he dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jacob Parsons, who scored ten points along with five steals.
Several Moguls players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Keaton Darrow, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Darrow also grabbed two+ steals for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cian Waite, who scored six points along with six rebounds and six blocks.
Even though they lost, Edgemont were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Banner County's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-6. As for Edgemont, their defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Banner County will be home for the holidays to greet Cody-Kilgore at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Edgemont will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Harding County at 12:00 p.m. on December 30th.
