Cayson Gmerek gave up the fewest walks he has since back in February on Friday. He was dialed in as he struck out 12 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits (and only one walk). He was dominant the last time he took on East Hall last Tuesday, so they probably should've seen this coming. Gmerek also tossed a walk, which is notable because Monroe Area is 3-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 4-11 otherwise.

Gmerek's strong effort led Monroe Area over East Hall and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
