Fairview has gone a perfect 4-0 against Pandora-Gilboa recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Apaches will look to defend their home field against the Rockets at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Fairview has five straight wins, Pandora-Gilboa has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Fairview came out on top against North Central on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run first inning. The Apaches blew past the Eagles 11-5. The Apaches might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.
Drayden Grinnell-Dennis was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Cole Mack, who went 2-for-5 with two runs.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Fairview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Central only managed seven hits.
Meanwhile, Pandora-Gilboa lost 9-3 to Perry on Saturday.
Pandora-Gilboa saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Parker Gallaspie, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs. Tressel Grothause was another, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.
Fairview pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Pandora-Gilboa, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-20.
Pandora-Gilboa's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Fairview hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. It's a different story for Pandora-Gilboa, though, as they've only averaged .161. Will they be able to contain Fairview's hitters?
Fairview came out on top in a nail-biter against Pandora-Gilboa in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Apaches have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rockets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
