The Peninsula Seahawks's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They skirted past Gig Harbor 36-33. For Peninsula, this counts as revenge for the 53-51 loss the Tides walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Grace Richardson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Peninsula's points. Another player making a difference was Maci Miller, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Several Tides players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alex Ferrier, who scored eight points. Kaliyah Miller was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Peninsula's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Gig Harbor, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-8 record this season.
Peninsula will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Tides at 2:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Gig Harbor is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. They will take on Peninsula at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Washington (Peninsula is ranked 83rd, while the Tides are ranked 77th).
