The Irondequoit Eagles were the 54-44 winner over the Wayne Eagles when they last played one another back in February of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. Irondequoit fell 52-39 to Wayne on Thursday.
Irondequoit's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Laney Flynn, who scored six points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Flynn has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizabeth Tytler, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Irondequoit bumped their record down to 2-7 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Wayne, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Irondequoit will square off against Pittsford at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
