The Canyon View Falcons will take on the Millard Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Millard took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Canyon View, who comes in off a win.
Canyon View will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Pine View on Friday. The Falcons put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 20-5 victory.
Maisy Brady was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Brady was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addi Rushton, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025. Haiden McDonald was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Canyon View always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pine View only posted an OBP of .375.
Meanwhile, Millard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 13-9 to Olympus. On the bright side, the nine- run effort marked the Eagles' highest-scoring game to date.
Jansie Chlarson made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Emily Stephenson, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Millard's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Canyon View, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Everything went Canyon View's way against Millard when the teams last played back in March of 2021, as Canyon View made off with a 17-0 victory. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
