Garfield is 8-2 against West Seattle since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will challenge West Seattle at 4:00 p.m. Garfield is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.7 runs per game this season.
Garfield heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Tuesday. They lost 13-3 to Inglemoor.
Jordana King was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for West Seattle, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They never let Ingraham get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory last Tuesday. The win continues a trend for West Seattle in their matchups with Ingraham: they've now won eight in a row.
Daeja Piggee and Kaila Ignacio made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Piggee struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Ignacio tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At the plate, Piggee went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI, while Ignacio went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave Piggee a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mackenzie Curry Uzwack, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Molly Lefkowitz was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
West Seattle's victory bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Garfield, their loss dropped their record down to 20-6.
Everything went Garfield's way against West Seattle in their previous meeting back in April, as Garfield made off with a 15-2 win. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will West Seattle turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
