After a string of seven wins, The Legacy Academy Silverbacks''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Clayton by a score of 28-26. Legacy Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Clayton apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September.
Legacy Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of James Akins, who gained 179 total yards and two touchdowns, and Lorenzo Sedillo-Urban who threw for 127 yards and two touchdowns.
Legacy Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Clayton, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-5.
Legacy Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Clayton will head out on the road to face off against Mesilla Valley Christian School at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mesilla Valley Christian School knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matches -- so hopefully Clayton likes a good challenge.
