The Mishawaka Marian Knights entered their tilt with the Glenn Falcons with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Mishawaka Marian put the hurt on Glenn with a sharp 61-37 victory on Wednesday. Given Mishawaka Marian's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while Glenn is ranked 210th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Zion Rhoades, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. He has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last three times he's played. Elias Norgaard was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Joe Chrapliwy and Joey Shoue certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Chrapliwy scored 12 points along with six rebounds, while Shoue scored eight points.
Mishawaka Marian is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Glenn, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mishawaka Marian's road trip will continue as they head out to face South Bend St. Joseph at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Mishawaka Marian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Glenn, they will head out on the road to face off against Jimtown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Jimtown focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Saturday.
