St. Patrick is on a four-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Picayune is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The St. Patrick Fighting Irish will host the Picayune Maroon Tide at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
St. Patrick proved they can win big on Friday (they won by ten) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past West Harrison 5-3. The Fighting Irish haven't had any issues with the Hurricanes recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Cameron Broom spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alden Williams, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Jasper Moran was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Picayune never let their opponents score on Saturday. They put the hurt on Pass Christian with a sharp 13-0 victory. Considering the Maroon Tide have won four games by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Parker Helton was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. He also put up a double, which washis first of the season. Another player making a difference was Justin Stockstill, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Picayune was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .355 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Picayune's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for St. Patrick, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both team's pitchers. St. Patrick hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having hit 0 of their hits per game. However, it's not like Picayune struggles in that department as they've hit 0 of their hits this season. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
St. Patrick was able to grind out a solid win over Picayune when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 5-1. Will St. Patrick repeat their success, or does Picayune have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
