Legacy had won three straight on the road, but on Friday they bumped up to 6-8 to make it four. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Rocky Mountain Lobos, sneaking past 14-12. That's more bragging rights for the Lightning, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Kady Cosyns made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over eight innings while giving up four earned (and eight unearned) runs off 14 hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in October of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Prisca Smolens was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Susan Perkins, who went 3-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Legacy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
As for Rocky Mountain, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (ten), they still had to take the loss.
On Rocky Mountain's side, Ariana Jackson made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Jackson has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played. Audrey Abernathy was another key player, going 4-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
Legacy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-8 win against Grandview on the 20th. As for Rocky Mountain, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 13-4 victory against Loveland on the 20th.
