The New Castle Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Hamilton Heights Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully New Castle focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday.
New Castle pushed their score all the way to 58, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Marion.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Landon Thompson, who scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds. Mason Miller was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with 5 assists.
Meanwhile, Hamilton Heights got the win against Clinton Central on Tuesday by a conclusive 71-45. The win was just what Hamilton Heights needed coming off of a 65-35 loss in their prior matchup.
The wins kept both teams' perfect 1-1 season records intact.
New Castle barely slipped by Hamilton Heights when the teams last played back in December of 2022, winning 54-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for New Castle since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
