Knightdale is 1-9 against Wakefield since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Knightdale Knights will be playing at home against the Wakefield Wolverines at 7:45 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Knightdale waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They took down Heritage 51-37.
Knightdale's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isaiah Green, who scored 18 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Green is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Khaim Taylor, who scored 12 points along with three steals and three blocks.
Meanwhile, even though Wake Forest scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, Wakefield still came out on top. Wakefield strolled past Wake Forest with points to spare, taking the game 69-55. The victory was just what Wakefield needed coming off of a 93-67 loss in their prior matchup.
Syncere Burnette was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with six rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Chris Harris, who scored ten points.
Knightdale is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Wakefield, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-4.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Knightdale have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 34.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Wakefield struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.6 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
