Ridgedale has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Ridgemont Golden Gophers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Tuesday, Ridgedale suffered a rough 44-24 loss at the hands of Fredericktown.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Ridgemont, who are still winless after their fifth game. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 48-27 walloping at the hands of Perry on Thursday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Ridgemont in their matchups with Perry: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the defeat, Ridgemont saw an underclassman step up: Ruth Eckstein scored six points along with ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Eckstein has scored all season.
Ridgedale's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Ridgemont, they bumped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Ridgedale barely slipped by Ridgemont when the teams last played back in February, winning 31-30. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ridgedale since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
