The Morse Shipbuilders will square off against the Medomak Valley Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Morse is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.

Morse is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Yarmouth on Friday. They came up short against the Clippers, falling 9-1. The matchup marked the Shipbuilders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Morse saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Becker, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Medomak Valley couldn't beat Camden Hills on Friday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Panthers took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Windjammers.

Jaydiin Ruiz and Josh Blake Jr. did some serious damage despite the final result: Ruiz got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs, while Blake Jr. went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Benedix, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Morse's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Medomak Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Medomak Valley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Morse has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .458. It's a different story for Medomak Valley, though, as they've only averaged .354. Will they be able to contain Morse's hitters?

Morse got the 'W' in their previous matchup last Wednesday against Medomak Valley by a conclusive 13-3 score. Will the Shipbuilders repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
