Despite the loss, Monterey had strong showings from Aiden Roberson-Barber, who scored 23 points along with two steals, and Mekkiah Henry, who scored 11 points along with three steals. Roberson-Barber is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played.
York Institute is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Monterey, they are on a 17-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-25.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. York Institute will challenge Smith County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Monterey, they will head out on the road to challenge Trousdale County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Monterey is facing Trousdale County at the right time seeing as Trousdale County is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
