Lemon Bay struggled with offensive rebounds on Wednesday (Riverview Sarasota had 11 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Lemon Bay took a 72-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Riverview Sarasota. While losing is never fun, Lemon Bay can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while Riverview Sarasota is ranked 27th).
Despite the defeat, Lemon Bay had strong showings from Myah Dickerson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds, and Maya Collins, who scored 19 points along with nine steals and six assists. Collins is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Long, who scored ten points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Aubrey Rogers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 82-36 win over Estero at home. Aubrey Rogers has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 25 points or more this season.
Lemon Bay's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Aubrey Rogers, they pushed their record up to 13-4 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
