The Juarez Eagles had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 48-35 victory over South Shore International on Friday. The win was just what Juarez needed coming off of a 74-30 loss in their prior contest.
Juarez's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Yasmin Hernandez , who scored 17 points. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Flores, who scored 14 points.
Juarez's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6. As for South Shore International, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2.
Juarez will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Victoria Soto at 11:30 a.m. on December 27th. After both having extra time off, South Shore International and Perspectives-IIT/Joslin will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 5:00 p.m. on January 10, 2024.
