The Page Sand Devils had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They walked away with a 69-62 victory over Chinle. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leading Page to victory were Maximus Reid and Tyree Stingley. Reid scored 17 points along with four steals, while Stingley scored 27 points along with six rebounds. Stingley hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Bryce Williams, who scored six points along with six assists and two steals.
Despite the loss, Chinle still got an impressive performance from Jostaiah Harvey, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. Harvey is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Xicohtencatl, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Page is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Chinle, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4.
Page on the road again on Saturday and play against Alchesay at 6:30 p.m. on January 13th. As for Chinle, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Kingman at 6:00 p.m. on January 13th. Hopefully Kingman focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 last Tuesday.
