Lake Mead Academy is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Incline is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Lake Mead Academy Eagles will take on the Incline Highlanders at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Lake Mead Academy's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last seven contests.
With a playoff game on the line, Lake Mead Academy rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past White Pine 63-0 at home. The result was nothing new for Lake Mead Academy, who have now won eight matches by 27 points or more so far this season.
Lake Mead Academy found their leader in underclassman Jerry Meyer iii, who threw for 191 yards and six touchdowns while completing 76.2% of his passes. Meyer iii is absolutely dominating the passing touchdown category: he's posted at least three every time he's taken the field this season. Chayse Valenzuela was another key contributor, rushing for 81 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Incline beat Battle Mountain 21-16 on Friday.
Colin Combs and Tommy Williams were among the main playmakers for Incline as the former picked up 204 receiving yards and two touchdowns and the latter threw for 285 yards and two touchdowns. Combs' longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards.
Their wins bumped Lake Mead Academy to 8-1 and Incline to 7-2.
