Softball Recap: Friday's Win Is Marysville's 13th in Last 15 Outings

Marysville's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Bishop Watterson Eagles 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Monarchs have posted since April 12th.

Sienna Hutchins and Ella Wood did most of the damage at the plate: Hutchins went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Wood went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Lexi Hakola was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Marysville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Bishop Watterson, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marysville will head out to face off against Madison Comprehensive at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Bishop Watterson, they will venture away from home to take on Upper Arlington at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
