The Thunder Ridge Longhorns were the 59-27 winner over the Lakeside Knights when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Thunder Ridge fell 49-41 to Lakeside on Friday. While losing is never fun, Thunder Ridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while Lakeside is ranked 59th).
Leading Lakeside to victory were Ian Kresin and Reece Remus. Kresin scored 10 points along with 5 steals, while Remus scored 21 points along with 8 rebounds. The game was Remus' third in a row with at least ten points. Eli Schmitt was another key contributor, scoring 4 points.
Thunder Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Lakeside, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thunder Ridge will take on Rock Hills at TBD on Saturday. Allowing an average of 59 points per game, Rock Hills has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this game. As for Lakeside, they will play host again and welcome Stockton, where tip off is scheduled for TBD on Saturday. Stockton is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
