Jellico was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 14-13 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sunbright Tigers. On the bright side, the 13- run effort marked the Blue Devils' highest-scoring contest to date.

Jellico got a massive performance out of Mason Metcalf, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those runs were Metcalf's first of the season. Adam Haskell was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing seven bases while going 2-for-4.

Jellico's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Sunbright, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-12.

While Jellico had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
