Eagle is a perfect 10-0 against Centennial since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Mustangs will square off against the Patriots at 5:00 p.m. Eagle is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.5 runs per game this season.
Eagle is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Boise, who was ranked 22nd at the time (Eagle was ranked 16th). The Mustangs came out on top against the Brave by a score of 16-12 on Thursday.

Erin Thoreson was a standout: she scored four runs while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Aly Vieira was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
Thoreson wasn't the only one making solid contact: Eagle kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. The Mustangs are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Centennial hadn't done well against Kuna recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Patriots won by a run and slipped past the Kavemen 9-8.
Bailey Simpson ?26 was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cali Moorhouse ?26, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Centennial's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-7. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Eagle, their record now sits at 8-4.
Centennial's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Eagle has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Centennial, though, as they've been averaging 10.2 hits. Given Eagle's sizable advantage in that area, the Patriots will need to find a way to close that gap.
Eagle came out on top in a nail-biter against Centennial when the teams last played back in March, sneaking past 14-13. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
