If the North Duplin Rebels were riding high off their 63-35 takedown of the Bear Grass Charter Bears last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. North Duplin took a 88-78 hit to the loss column at the hands of James Kenan on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (63), North Duplin still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, North Duplin still got an impressive performance from Dujuan Armwood, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Branson Martin, who scored 14 points.
North Duplin's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-3. As for James Kenan, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Duplin won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Jones at 7:00 p.m. on December 13th. One thing working in Jones' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six games. As for James Kenan, they will head out on the road to face off against Kinston at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Kinston knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully James Kenan likes a good challenge.
