The East Noble Knights will head out on the road to face off against the West Noble Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully East Noble focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
Last Friday, East Noble escaped with a win against Leo by the margin of a single free throw, 33-32.
East Noble's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ellisyn Will led the charge by scoring seven points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Payton Quake, who scored five points along with two steals and two blocks.
Meanwhile, West Noble lost to Garrett on the road by a decisive 43-28 margin on Friday. West Noble has struggled against Garrett recently, as their game on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Alayna C delong, who scored six points along with 13 rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that she grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexia Mast, who scored ten points along with five steals.
East Noble pushed their record up to 12-7 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for West Noble, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-18 record this season.
Keep an eye on the arc in Tuesday's match: East Noble have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 43.5% of their threes per game. It's a different story for West Noble, though, as they've only made 27.8% of their threes per game this season. Given East Noble's sizeable advantage in that area, West Noble will need to find a way to close that gap.
East Noble came out on top in a nail-biter against West Noble when the teams last played back in January of 2023, sneaking past 49-47. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was West Noble's Mackensy Mabie, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds. Now that she won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for East Noble to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
