Richard Winn Academy kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Greenwood Christian Hawks, falling 12-6. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak dating back to last season.

Bennett Nicholson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

The win made it two in a row for Greenwood Christian and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Coming up, Richard Winn Academy will head out to challenge Wardlaw Academy at 7:00 p.m. on March 7th. As for Greenwood Christian, they will be taking part in a tournament against Ware Shoals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
