Hartford faced St. Johnsbury Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Hartford narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past St. Johnsbury Academy 35-33. Having pegged this as anyone's game, the MaxPreps state rankings were right on the nose. This was the first game for both teams, giving Hartford a 1-0 record and starting St. Johnsbury Academy off at 0-1.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Next week, Hartford take on Middlebury at 7:00 PM. St. Johnsbury Academy are packing up and heading on the road for the first time this season. They face off against Essex next week at 7:00 PM.
