On Wednesday, Purdue Polytechnic ended up a good deal behind Oldenburg Academy and lost 59-45. While losing is never fun, Purdue Polytechnic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 268th, while Oldenburg Academy is ranked 124th).
Purdue Polytechnic's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Madison Jobe, who scored 22 points along with two steals, and Lanyia Smith who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Ja'Nyiah Rogers, who scored six points along with four steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Purdue Polytechnic and nudges their season record down to 7-10. As for Oldenburg Academy, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-4.
Purdue Polytechnic will look to defend their home court on Friday against Marion at 7:30 p.m. As for Oldenburg Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Milan at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Milan is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
