Perhaps the best among them was   Gianna Thompson, who  went 7 for 15 en route to 17 points plus six  rebounds and two  steals. The team also got some help courtesy of  Addison Haughian, who  earned ten points in addition to five  assists and two  steals.
 Meanwhile, Joliet Central hadn't done well against Joliet West recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Monday. Joliet Central narrowly escaped with a  win as the  squad sidled past Joliet West  54-51. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Steelmen have posted  since December 28, 2023.
 Plainfield East's first  win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Joliet Central, their victory  ended  a  six-game drought at home  dating back to last season and  bumped them up to 1-4.
 Plainfield East came out on top in a nail-biter against Joliet Central in their previous meeting  back in January, sneaking past  61-59. Will Plainfield East repeat their success,  or does  Joliet Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
