Serrano is 0-10 against the Burros since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Serrano Diamondbacks will be playing at home against the Burroughs Burros at 6:00 p.m.
Serrano unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 67-43 walloping at the hands of Oak Hills. While losing is never fun, Serrano can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 800th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 231st).
Meanwhile, Burroughs came into Wednesday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They strolled past Apple Valley with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 66-49. The victory was just what Burroughs needed coming off of a 70-39 defeat in their prior game.
Burroughs' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cory Kent, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeffrey Brady, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.
Serrano's loss dropped their record down to 14-13. As for Burroughs, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-11.
Serrano came up short against the Burros when the teams last played back in January, falling 52-48. Will Serrano have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
