Baseball Recap: Breckinridge County Wins Going Away Against Mclean County

Breckinridge County barely beat McLean County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Breckinridge County put the hurt on McLean County with a sharp 9-2 win on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Fighting Tigers, who have now won five matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Harper Lucas was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Butler, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.

Breckinridge County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McLean County only posted a batting average of .160.

Breckinridge County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. McLean County's loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Breckinridge County will face off against Grayson County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Breckinridge County is facing Grayson County at the right time seeing as Grayson County is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for McLean County, a feisty cat fight will be fought as McLean County Cougars face off against Daviess County Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
