Alisal and Monte Vista Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. Alisal will be playing in front of their home fans against Monte Vista Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Alisal made easy work of Palma and carried off a 9-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Nevaeh Lopez made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Micah Smith, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aaliyah Ruiz, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Alisal was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palma only posted a batting average of .185.
Meanwhile, Monte Vista Christian waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 21-8 margin over the Condors. The Mustangs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Like Alisal, Monte Vista Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Harper Ealy Whitby. She struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Ealy Whitby was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Kayla Fullalove-Silveira and Samantha Bertoldi did most of the damage at the plate: Fullalove-Silveira scored six runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances, while Bertoldi scored five runs and stole five bases while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances. With that strong performance, Bertoldi is now averaging an impressive 2.1 runs per game. Addie Boles was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances.
The win got Alisal back to even at 3-3. As for Monte Vista Christian, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 7-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Alisal has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Monte Vista Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Alisal's way against Monte Vista Christian in their previous meeting last Tuesday, as Alisal made off with a 17-7 win. Does Alisal have another victory up their sleeve, or will Monte Vista Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
