After a string of three wins, the Greenville Comets's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 40-29 to Effingham. Greenville has not had much luck with Effingham recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Greenville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Natalie Mccullough, who scored four points along with five rebounds.
Greenville's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Effingham, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenville on the road again on Tuesday and play against Breese Central at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Breese Central will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive. As for Effingham, they will head out on the road to face off against Mattoon at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
