It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Hayfork Timberjacks had no problem doing just that on Friday. They secured a 26-20 W over Chester. The victory was just business as usual for Hayfork, who after 12 games remain undefeated this season.
Levi Cavalli was his usual excellent self, rushing for 250 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. Cavalli's longest rush was for an incredible 94 yards. Devin Nanez and his 97 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Hayfork's victory.
Hayfork pushed their record up to 12-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Chester, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
Hayfork will square off against Tulelake at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Tulelake is ranked 31st, while Hayfork is ranked 13th). Chester does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
