The Red Mesa Redskins's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They suffered a tough 71-49 loss at the hands of Monument Valley. The contest was a close 27-24 at the break, but unfortunately for Red Mesa it sure didn't stay that way.
Despite the loss, Red Mesa still got an impressive performance from Jonah Herbert, who scored 16 points.
Monument Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Braxton Goodshield out in front who scored 27 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Goodshield has scored all season. Joshua Hicks was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
Red Mesa has not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season. As for Monument Valley, their win bumped their record up to 5-12.
Red Mesa's road trip will continue as they head out to face Fredonia at 4:00 p.m. on January 26th. Fredonia is out to stop a nine-game streak of losses at home. Monument Valley will take on Whitehorse at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Whitehorse is ranked 125th, while Monument Valley is ranked 137th).
