Carlisle County is 1-9 against Calloway County since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Carlisle County Comets will head out on the road to face off against the Calloway County Lakers at 7:30 p.m.
Last Saturday, Carlisle County came up short against Livingston Central and fell 55-45. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Carlisle County has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Calloway County had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They really took it to Murray for the full four quarters, racking up a 50-16 victory at home. Calloway County might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four matchups by 27 points or more this season.
Calloway County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sayler Lowe out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Lowe's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Madison Futrell was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five assists and four steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Carlisle County and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Calloway County, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
Carlisle County didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Calloway County in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 60-54 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Carlisle County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
