It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Chico had no problem doing just that on Friday. They put the hurt on the Shasta Wolves with a sharp 15-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 11 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Leah Cawthon made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Cawthon was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
In other batting news, Caroline LaMoe was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Gioella Pennisi was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
