Westminster has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Pacifica Mariners at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Westminster has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 401 points over their last five matches.
Last Friday, Westminster took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 80-40 win over La Quinta.
Westminster's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sean Le led the charge by scoring 25 points. The game was Le's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Tran, who scored 16 points along with five assists and four steals.
Meanwhile, Pacifica scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Anaheim 75-35 on the road. Given Pacifica's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 473rd, while Anaheim is ranked 1253rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Westminster has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Pacifica, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.
Westminster was able to grind out a solid win over Pacifica in their previous matchup back in December of 2015, winning 75-68. Does Westminster have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pacifica turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
