After a string of three wins, Lowndes's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of the South Cobb Eagles by a score of 48-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Vikings have suffered since January 27, 2024.

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dallas Montgomery, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Martin, who posted six points and 11 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Lowndes smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Lowndes' loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5. As for South Cobb, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Fort Walton Beach the next time they take the court. Lowndes will head out to face Fort Walton Beach at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, while South Cobb will play them later in the day, at 4:30 p.m.
