Walton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isabella Holden, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Holden is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Maleaha Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two steals.
Walton's victory bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Malone, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13.
Walton won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Ponce De Leon presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Braves in Florida (the Pirates are ranked 52nd, while the Braves are ranked 323rd). As for Malone, they will face off against the Bucks at TBD on Monday.
