The First Colonial Patriots will take on the Cox Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
First Colonial suffered their biggest loss since December 8, 2023 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Princess Anne 66-18. While losing is never fun, First Colonial can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while Princess Anne is ranked 16th).
Meanwhile, Cox was the victim of a rough 66-40 defeat at the hands of Bayside on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Cox has suffered against Bayside since December 13, 2019.
First Colonial's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Cox, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.
Everything came up roses for First Colonial against Cox in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 50-17 win. Will First Colonial repeat their success, or does Cox have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
