Firth is a perfect 10-0 against North Fremont since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Cougars will face off against the Huskies at 4:00 p.m. Firth is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
Firth will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Monday, then bounced right back against West Jefferson on Tuesday. The Cougars blew past the Panthers 24-4. That 20 run margin sets a new team best for the Cougars this season.

Darrell Vasquez and Quinton Hall made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Vasquez pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Hall tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Vasquez got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Hall scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances. Firth is undefeated when Vasquez posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise.
In other batting news, Grant Vasquez was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Tonk Perry, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.
Firth kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Jefferson only managed four hits.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for North Fremont, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Salmon 2-0. The victory was some much needed relief for the Huskies as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Not much got past Garrett Owens, who gave up just five hits and racked up 15 Ks to keep Salmon off the board. With that strong performance, Owens is now averaging an impressive 5.4 strikeouts per game.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cameron Shuldberg, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. Reuger Lenz was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
Firth's record is now 10-5. As for North Fremont, their record now sits at 5-6-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Firth has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like North Fremont struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Firth's way against North Fremont when the teams last played on April 1st, as Firth made off with a 13-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
