Kirby are packing up and hiking across state lines for their contest on Friday. They will challenge Olive Branch on the road at 7:00 PM. The MaxPreps rankings say the odds are against Kirby, but that can only make success all the sweeter.
Last week, Kirby had a bit more than a touchdown to spare in a 42-28 victory over Ridgeway.
Meanwhile, everything went Olive Branch's way against DeSoto Central as they made off with a 31-0 win. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Olive Branch had established a 28-0 advantage.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 3-0. In their victory, Olive Branch relied heavily on senior Dakota Braswell, who rushed for 116 yards and 3 touchdowns; a key strategy for Kirby will lie in finding a way to minimize his impact.
